SOURCE: crankshaft position sensor location

Hello. One way to check if it is working is when you try to start the car does the needle move on you tac? If not then your crank sensor is more then likely the problem. It is located on the backside of the engine under the intake manifold. If is in about the center of the block. There will be a 10mm bolt holding the sensor in. If you decide to change it yourself (not to terrible of a job) unplug the sensor, remove the bolt and spin it back and forth slightly while pulling it out. It may be stoburn and you might have to work at it for a little bit (not a done of room) but it will come. When it's out the sensor will be shaped kind of like an L. I have changed a few of these over time and they can be a little stoburn. To install just reverse the process.

SOURCE: Replace crankshaft position sensor

Remove the left front wheel....(drivers side). Remove all accessory belts. Remove the crankshaft shaft pulley.......remove the plastic lower timing belt cover.....and there it is! It is mounted with one bolt.
The wiring runs down the right side of the timing cover while looking at it from the drivers side of the car.

My engine stops for no apparent reason while driving. I suspect the crankshaft sensor. The fault goes away as seemingly at will. Any other suggestions. 2001 Honda CRV

That could be caused by any number of thing's ! Electronic ignition , engine computer , sensors , fuel pump possibly . Don't suspect anything , test and if you don't have tools or knowledge suggest you watch videos on youtube for crank sensor testing . Check engine compartment wiring harness for lose connections , wires that are bare and touching ground . Check for small animal nests , rodents like to chew on wire's . Electronic componets can cause problems like this but the vehicle won't start up again till the componet cools down . Replacing parts not knowing that it is the problem for sure is not very good practice . Does it start bak up right away ? Check engine light on ? How to Test Crankshaft and Camshaft Position Sensors

Tbc dash light meaning for honda

Hello,
I don't know of a TBC light for Honda but there is a TDC... If that's what you meant to type. Its the "Top Dead Center" sensor

The TDC (top dead center) positioning sensor is another name for your crankshaft position sensor. This sensor measures the position of your crankshaft and helps with the proper firing of your spark plugs when you start your engine. The TDC sensor on the '97 Honda Accord is located on the underside of the engine block. Replacement TDC sensors can be purchased at your Honda dealership. This is not a difficult repair and can be done in about 15 minutes.

Where is a crankshaft position sensor located?

I don't see a parts listing for a Crankshaft position sensor...are you sure that's what you are looking for? They are usually located in one of two places on any car, either behind the harmonic balancer or in the middle of the block above the oil pan, usually on the backside of the motor.

How do I fix a Interruption in TDC #1 sensor circuit problem on a 2001 Honda Civic? THe code is P1361 and P1362

P1361 is a misfire code, and P1362 is a TDC sensor (or crankshaft position sensor) code. The known possible repair is to replace the crankshaft position sensor. You may have to ask for a tdc sensor as some parts providers follow the mfr's part name.

Sounds like you may have a defective Crankshaft position sensor. You might try checking the connector that goes to that sensor and make sure it is plugged in properly. Always disconnect the battery before doing so.. Good luck
