SOURCE: alfa 159 diesal stalling no fault codes idles

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

You may just have a vacuum hose issue. If you have a vacuum leak the car will definitely run rough. Please do check and observe very carefully if there are loosen or worn hoses. Please do replace them to resolve the issue.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Have you tried contacting Haynes manuals? There is also Chilton`s manuals. You may have to correspond with Alfa Romeo.

Spare key wont start the car but make the ignition work

spare key is not most likely registered for the car that's why it doesn't start. don't use it again, or the car may lock you out completely and you will have to tow it to a dealer to get it reset/fixed. just my 2 cents.

Alfa romeo heater not working

Have been able to locate the blower motor assembly? If so smack it with your hand and see if it begins to spin. If it does, replace the blower motor. If you are refering to no "heat" than start by checking your coolant resevoir to see if there is any in it. If it is low, add as necessary and turn your heater to full blast while adding and running. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Belt tensioner mounting broke off water pump housing

Just done mine on an Alfa Romeo 159, it wasnt Cheap. For the 2, which you have to do, it cost us £250.00 ($500.00), but if the car has a cam belt for gods sake have that changed at the same time, it saves a lot of hard work. I used to own my own garage, but I retired early, don't waste momey palaying about with tensioners with out changing the cam belt, it'll save you money in the long run.

2001 156 Alfa T Spark heater problems

Sounds like the flaps on the heater box are not moving. you will need to check the cables to see if they have come off or if they are seized.
The heat problem could be a blockage in the heater matrix. Try flushing the matrix out with a hose from the engine compartment side.
Note: you will need to bleed the system of air after doing this.
