Question about 2006 Nissan Altima
When stopped and in gear my idle will begin to shake. Mind you it does not shake badly to start. Only after driving about a qurater to a half mile with one or two stopps along the way. Hot or cold rain or shine. I have replaced and reinforced every motor mount. The spark plugs are fine and the cam shaft position sensor has been replaced. I've read about this problem but the solutions range from simple to fringe it seems. 63000 mi. Noisy acceleration. Vibration when decelerating . NOT A ROTOR PROBLEM trust me. I've already spent 200.00 on two different mechanics. Canned "motor mount" responses. If they don't have to help they won't
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Check the condition of the plugs you have installed. See if you can find one which has an irregular color. The spark plug should be dry and brown in color. The problem could be just in one or a few cylinders. More than one cylinder may mean a problem with the ignition coil. If it were just one we can isolate it into the components connected to the cylinder.
If you have the SES light on as well, it may be a bad O2 sensor or a bad catalytic converter. Check for the wiring that goes to the O2 sensor. The computer may not be getting the correct reading on how much fuel burned causing the misfire.

Could be any one, or more, of the following -
Bad plug wire
Crossed plug wires (hard to tell sometimes on V-8s that run smooth anyway)
Leaky EGR valve
Shifted timing sensor
Scan engine for codes and proceed from there.
There is a product called RXP (available here in Texas) that will clean up an engine and gas. Its pretty awesome stuff, and this coming from a person who doesn't really believe in additives.
