You should be able to find the answer at this website. It says under the hood, driver's side, and tells what it looks like.

Engine managment light on, cat light on, no power. it has been on diagnostics and new coil pack + plugs fitted as diagnostics came up with coil pack all been reset and drove away ok then got to hill and...

Wasn't properly diagnosed with the codes
that were there at the time any work was performed

Try a different more competent shop

Codes do not tell you what is wrong

Have to use the codes, diagnostic charts
& component test

Sounds like they just threw parts at it

Normal tune-up, includes?

YEARS AGO A NORMAL TUNE UP WOULD BE SPARK PLUGS, WIRES, ROTOR, CAP

NOW DAY SHOULD BE THE SAME THING BUT THEY ONLY REOLACE THE PLUGS AND WIRES THAT ARE SHOWN TO BE BAD OR WEAK THRU THE DIAGNOSTICS EVERY REPAIR SHOP IS NOT THE SAME
WITH THE TUNE UP THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER AND AIR FILTER, DEPENDS ON WHAT THE DIAGNOSTICS MACHINE SHOWS

Volvo v70 abs light and mil light on. no coms with diagnostic socket, all fuses are ok. no 12v at diag socket, so no diag tools will work.

Are you plugging into the obd2 diagnostics port under the dash or the diagnostics port under the hood? You should be plugged in under the dash to read codes for the MIL / ABS light. Just a heads up as well most scanners you can buy from the part stores do not have the necessary program protocols to read European cars.

Car cut out and will no longer start. diagnostics showed faulty coil ignition pack which was replaced but still no joy. any suggestions? further diagnostics do not show any electric fault. timing ok.

Check all conections to the coil pack, check to insure all spark plug wires are on, and make sure it is getting fire. With the engine not starting, the check engine light may not come on to produce a code for the diagnostics.

Not getting diagnostics info from the diagnostics plug

Have it fixed by an expert. He needs to have a relay added in. Once you explain he will know what to do and where to fix it.
