Question about 2011 Honda Pilot EX-L
Can not open the door so that I can fill the gas tank. The latch will not work if the vehicle sits outside. Will work if it is put in the garage. Hard to do a road trip in the winter and get gas. Had it checked by a Honda dealer and they could not find a problem. Will it hurt to leave the door to the gas tank open?? and highway drive. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. I open it in the garage, go and get gas and then close it.

If you hold the 1st and 3rd botton down in your honda built in remote for aprox. 60 seconds or until the light next to the bottons goes out, this will erase the program from the car. You shouldn't have to mess with you garage door opener at all.

The release cable is sticking or broken. To release the fuel door, open the trunk and pull off the fabric liner on the left side of the trunk. Behind this liner is the fuel door release cable; this cable leads to the fuel door and attaches with a twist-lock connector. It is cylindrical with two tabs. Twist the connector clockwise about 90 degrees and it should pull out, releasing the door.
Just remember, the fuel door will not stay closed until you put the connector back in.

Your carberator has crud, or rust, or glaze in it. The carberator will have to be removed, soaked in cleaner for three hours and then rebuilt using the proper carberator kit from any auto parts store. If you need to hire this done expect to pay about 35 dollars.
