Pending how hot it got it may have a blown head gasket or stuck valves a compressn test will have to be done on it to figure out if the engine will have to be replaced

Head gasket failed due to overheating. Get it pressure tested.

My 98 ford mustang is stuck in park


check fuses for brake shift solenoid. the brake pedal position switch is a fuse under the hood. inside the passenger compartment, check every fuse. that's a start for not having more information.

you need to have the key reprogrammed by a locksmith or the dealership. it will only start and stay running with the original or reprogrammed key.

I accidently used my Mustang key in my Explorer ignition...now ignition key wont work...is this part of the theft deterrent (98 Explorer) ?? Thanks


If the key works and turns the switch and car don't start it theft deterent it will again after a small timeout

98 v6 mustang is over heating its not the thermostate or fan


Several things ... best guess, in order:
1. (very likely) Radiator fan is not blowing (turn on car and a/conditioner.
When compressor kicks in, the radiator fan must blow). If it ims not blowing,
the radiator fan motor may be burned out ($40).
2. Check / replace "cooling fan" fuse ($1) and / or "cooling fan" relay switch
($7).
3. Radiator clog (possible)
