Have you had any type of linkage problems? Such as the gear shifter. Manuel or automatic transmission? Before I could offer any type of help I'll really need to know this. Thank you.

1995 subaru legacy reverse is slipping think it could be a solenoid? Which solenoid and where can I find it? Thanks in advance. Yahthay

This is not an electrical issue as you suspect.
These transmissions operate each gear you select by pressurizing the valve body passage that engages the gear. Get a transmission specialist to test/inspect the valve body to determine the actual cause. It could be as simple as original fluid in the car or the valve body is losing pressure. Worst case is the main pump is failing then getting a working used transmission would be the least expensive repair

Have a 1995 Subaru legacy have to wiggle the key before car will start. is it a lock problem or some sensor within the column?

no sensor,, Just the ignition is worn out,, your going to have to replace it, always use care when working with any part near the air bag system,, remove the neg battery cable first, then the positive one, and wait 10 minutes before doing anything, this will allow the system to discharge ,, once your done with any repairs,, hook it back up in the reverse order,, Positive cable first , then the neg

Need diagram for 1995 subaru legacy automatic transmission. 176K , Reverse went out about 10 months ago but all other gears shift fine. Have driven from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe 4/5 times with no...

It's a bad solenoid. Reverse and low gears work off the same set of clutches. If you have first gears , then its a solenoid problem. I would first start by pulling plugs, transmission, TCM and everything in between. Check for corrosion, Use an ohm meter and check the wires for continuity. On some models the safety neutral switch/ range selector switch has a lot to do with how the transmission shifts. If the tcm can't read the switch it wont send power to the solenoid. so far I haven't found a place that will sell just solenoids. You have to buy the whole package. These start at about $200.00

I have a 1995 subaru impreza. I cant get the

There is a locking solenoid under the plastic shroud around you shifter. When you put on your brake the solenoid is supposed to pull back to release the shifter.
The buzzing you are hearing is that solenoid trying to pull back. Going to have to replace it.

1995 subaru legacy with an auto transmission

First Did you take the emergency barke off? and have you checked the fluid level? even a pint of fluid can damage transmissions. look at fluid is it brown? if it is you need to change the oil and filter in the transmisson. Does it go in reverse?
