SOURCE: misfiring while driving

Check the spark plugs, make sure they all seated and are tight. Also change wires. Probably the coil packs, but check the cheaper stuff first.

SOURCE: 2009 pontiac g3 getting a p0301 code on obd2

A code P0301 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • Faulty spark plug or wire
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Running out of fuel
  • Poor compression
  • Defective computer

Its normally best to start with the spark plug first then the wires then the coil then o2 sensor do keep in mind that if it happens to be a oxygen sensor that it will be the one before the catalytic converter. That is the one that controls fuel and air tuning.

All that being said all of them are easy fixes at least and the plugs and wires are fairly cheap and coils not too expensive nor are o2 sensors.

I hope this helps on your journey to get car running again if so please rate 4 thumbs helps me continue to help on here thanks

How to change spark plugs on a 2009 Saturn Outlook

Get a spark plug socket for 3/8" ratchet and a 3/8" ratchet extension probably at least 3" to go with your 3/8" ratchet. The socket must match the size of your new spark plugs. Find them and replace them by removing the boot (rubber wire) on top of each plug. However many cylinders you have = how many spark plugs. Find them all. Put a little oil on the threads of the new ones so they don't sieze.

Car wont start and back firing

If it is backfiring it is probably because your aren't getting good spark to burn the fuel inside the cylinder. Change your spark plugs and wires.
