2004 Renault Megane Passenger Window Fault

Hi, Just got back from shopping and found my passenger window had fallen down inside the door. Thought i had been robbed, but nothing was taken.
Just phone local dealer, they said it maybe the window regulator and the loom that has failed. when asked how much they said £400+ to get fixed, what a rip off. Any help would be great as to where this can be fixed cheaper, or how to fix myself. I see from a few forum that this is a common problem for 2004/54 plate Renaults. Thanks

Hi, I have the same problem on my Scenic (04). Passenger window failed and Renault advised it may be the Regulator and possibly the looms that need replacing too. I know it is a common problem but Renault only extend teh warranty by an extra 2 years on these which is Naff - if it is a known problem it should be fixed full stop - no extended warranty nonsense as they have fitted the car with poor parts. They quoted me €600 which is just plain french silly. I am in Ireland so know the quote won't be too far different anywhere else here. Did you get the problem asorted by yourself as I am happy to try myself once I get the massive inside door panel off - looks like I may need a few plastic plugs!!! Any help??

Looks like this is an issue for the make - same thing happened to my misses - off to shopping came back and it had fallen - though I do wonder if someone has had a go at it. Going to have a lok at thismyself as it's not due in for a week and it'll be from 40 to £300 to fix! Just great as I've only just paid out on the ignition coils (all four have now been replaced).

Having the same problem with the passenger window opening on its own while parked up, the window desided to go back up 2 hours later as I was just pulling onto the main dealers carpark. But it's started to do this same thing again. I know other people have been having the same problem but has anyone managed to rectify the problem without going to the main dealer and if so what was the cost.

I have a 2004 Chevy venture passenger window won't go up or down what could it be

Have you tried the drivers door "passenger door window switch" and the passenger "door window switch" to try and roll the passenger window up?When you do try to roll it up make sure the vehicle is running as you want the most voltage to the window motor. If both door switches would not roll the window up,try the following.
With the engine running hit the up window switch on the passenger door just as you give the door a HARD FIRM RAP.The window should roll up.It may take a few tries.DO NOT roll the window back down until you have changed or dissembled the window motor for a good cleaning. Also, check for broken wires at the door hinge area on both the drivers and passenger sides, pull each wire firmly looking for a broken wire.

Inner door panel removal, renault megane scenic

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls
