Wouldn't hurt to put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner into the tank. i suspect mileage isn't as important as how clean the fuel is.

Mechanic wants to change my power steering fluid because it is burned. 45k miles on my altima hybrid. also wants to clean my fuel injectors with an i v system?

Power steering flush can't hurt. In fact flushing the power steering systems on some vehicles has solved power steering issues. Power steering fluid is one of the few fluids that is not filtered. Yet it is subject to contamination, heat cycles, shearing, and compression just like many of the other fluids in your car.

Unless there is a problem with the fuel injection system a service is not needed.

Remove the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator and inspect for fuel leaking into the vacuum line. There should be NO fuel.
The regulator is located on the upper intake manifold and is easily accessible.

Have 06 impala and always here ticking or clicking noise from the engine 18000 miles was told it could be the fuel injecters max

could be the fuel injectors, or worst case could be out of adjustment valves... most likely it is overhead cam so i'd bet it was the fuel injectors...

Very high idle at start, slowly idles down after hot. Replaced ICV, sometimes lopes, can shut down, restart, idles right.

change fuel filter. add can of SEAFOAM(parts store) to 1/2 tank of PREMIUM gas. let car idle 3-5 minutes. drive hard at least 10 miles.

you have what I call Ethanol Gas Syndrome. the ethanol gets in your system adds water and turns fuel to brown goop, it also carbonizes valves, injectors, and emission parts.

you might want to change f filter after 500 miles(again). add SF every 3-5000 miles, and this will clean the carbon; fix the gas and fuel system, and dry the water. good luck.

My engine light came on, then started blinking. I

Depends, injectors can be cleaned for far less than replaced. I had the same thing happen in my Dodge truck all 8 injectors pulled cleaned replaced. Gave me the same song and dance about tank, ended up not doing tank and just having a large (from a marine store) in-line filter installed. Have had no further problems 60,000 miles later still going strong and haven't had to replace the filter. The injector cleaning was $35.00 each plus about $10.00 each for them to remove and replace. The filter cost just under $200.00 and they charged me $150.00 to install, With everything I was out the door for around $800.00.

1999 Silverado 5.3L hesitation ?

Filling it up with 92 octane will not help you so save your money to get other cool **** . If you want to put higher grade gas to the 89 ,but 87 will do the trick. Have you checked your pcv valve and hoses you might have a vaccum leak.
