I started my 2008 Jeep Wrangler - the cargo light came on and has not turned off since. It does eventually turn off after turning off the ignition but comes back on when the car is started again. I do not have any other interior lights on.

If your check engine light does not illuminate when you turn the ignition on then your jeep ecu is in need of repair. The check engine light has to be on for the fuel pump to get power. Try leaving the ignition key in the on position for a few minutes to see if the check engine light does eventually come on and if the fuel pump starts to work then.
If your doing this because you want to add interior lights (i.e. when you open the door the lights turn on) there is several ways of doing it... probably the easiest way would be to locate your inside fuse box and find the fuse for you factory interior lights (the polarity should be positive+). then run a wire form the fused side to your new lights... tap a ground and your golden...
there are two ways to reset the light. you can use an obd2 scan tool to read and reset it or you can pull your battery cables off for a half hour and that will also reset it. just be forewarned if you have not fixed the problem that turned it on in the first place it will just come back on. if you have fixed the problem after 50 starts without seeing the issue again it will also clear itself.
