Question about 1997 Chevrolet Camaro

2 Answers

Need to replace rear turn signal socket in a 97 Chevy Camaro. Attempted to purchase the part and there seems to be two different parts for that year and yet none of them seem to match. My socket has two wires while the most similar of the two has 3 wires.

I would say the extra wire is a ground. i found this when i bought a set for my classic witch is good, because you can use that wire and ground it right to the body or frame, first find witch 2 work your lights (unless there color coded to your harness)most of the time the ground wire will come out of the plug close to the edge. it should be either black or white. the extra wire should not be a problem as long as you get the right two for your lights. then you can either ground the extra wire or tape it off. good luck. OLD SCHOOL.

The headlamp needs to be removed first. Then the bulb socket can be rotated and removed.

When I go to turn on my lights on my 97 chevy

most vehicles wire the dash lights in with the rear stop lights to warn the driver of the problem they cannot see. check the fuse for your rear stop and tail lights. had this problem on my vehicle too.

99 Chevy Tahoe... Rear turn signals, brake lights, and hazards

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

1992 chevy s10 no brake lights or turn signals

Check the front and rear (although probably the rear) turn signal bulb socket for corrosion and/or water intrusion. If you find corrosion attempt to clean (but you will probably have to replace the socket and bulb). For water intrusion you will probably have to replace the break lamp assembly.

Need new rear end for a 1996 Chevy Camaro (interchange options?)

camaro firebird and transam axles are what i would go for. remember lots of people change out the ratio just look for one with posi it will bolt right up if the ratio is wrong it will only affect speedo and fuel economy a little bit. this can also be changed easily with your ring and pinion out of the old one if need be.

97 camaro turn signals fail to work

sounds like two problems. the front turn signals operate through the drl module. It's behind the radio. if you cut and splice the dk. blue to dk. blue w/ white, lt. blue to lt. blue w/ white on the black connector it will bypass the drl but all other functions will work. some say to disconnect the blue connector to bypass however this will discontinue other features, e-brake indicator, rear hatch button, ect. As for the rear light, i would check the rear lamp harness connector behind the interior plastic drivers side for power on the right signal feed and the splice ground.
