Question about 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Touring
The catalytic converter on my 2006 Pacifica (115,000 miles) is bad and I am tired of looking at the check engine light. Is it an easy replacement? Does it bolt on or need to be cut/welded? I haven't looked underneath the car yet - want to see if it is something I want to tackle. It has no effect on the vehicle, hence I have not replaced it yet. But if it's not too difficult I will get to it. Thanks. HOGN

The problem might have already been there,the steel wheels are making it noticeable,because they don`t cool down as quick.Most likely is the calipers sticking,or you have a set of high dollar brake pads on the vehicle,and they are heating the rotors up.The high dollar pads are a very hard composite pad witch produce a lot of friction,and heat as a sort of side affect.

First find where the leak is coming from. Check the bottom of the radiator first for white corrosion. If the leak puddles in the fron and you see white corrosion on teh bottom (fins) of the radiator, chances are you just need to replace it.

Each wheel has an ABS Speed Sensor. The connectors for each of these is located in the wheel wells. The rears are up behind attached to the inside storage compartment in the wheel well and the front ones are located behind the plastic mud gaurd behind the shock. You have to pull the black plastic christmas tree holder out to get to them. There is a red safety clip on them that you have to move. I put an OHM meter on mine and they all checked at 558. I'm experiencing the same problem and have to start looking at a different problem now.

Make sure that your tire pressure sensors were not damaged. one simple way to check what tire sensor is causing the problem is to lower each tire individually and check to see if the message displays to a different tire or more than 1, depending on the TPM system your pacifica has. Chrysler has a TPM (tire pressure monitor) tester which can check each individual sensor for correct operation. and the sensor's batteries have typically a 5-7 year life span.
