Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 99 f250 it starts up and runs fine but then shuts off. Usually it starts right back up with no problems but is shutting off more often. No codes are found when I hook up a scanner.

SOURCE: 99 F250 V10 Sputtering

It takes just one of the coil on Plug units to cause sputtering and severe shaking. Fortunately the prices have dropped slightly for the coil units. The bad news is it is still close to 100 bucks from the Ford dealers. I have had to replace 3 of these on my 1999 F250 superduty V-10 since I bought it new. I believe there may be some compatible aftermarket units out there for high performance V-8 engines, but can not confirm compatibility.

SOURCE: F250 spins over well will not start

Sounds like a faulty crank sensor. Can also be caused by a faulty cam sensor.

with proper scan tool check FICM fuel injector control module main power should be 47 volts key on engine off 47.5 engine running if not replace FICM it has an internal problem also there may be a reflash available for drivability issues at the ford dealer this is not uncommon for 2004-2006 6.0s. keep me posted goodluck!

O6 ford f250 will start in the morning but after u run it and shut it off it will not start until it cools down some about an hour or so what could be the problem

Usually your problem is indicative of a bad starter. When a starter starts to go, it may start fine when cold but when it heats up, it requires more and more energy to power it. I'd first check all connections including battery cable to solenoid for snugness and lack of corrosion but if all check out ok, you've most likely got a bad starter on your hands. Best of luck with your problem and please post back with any other questions.

Engine shuts down

Ignition module is probably over heating.
Do you know anywhere you can take the module to have it tested?
