What happening is you have a bad head gasket or its starting to go bad. As long a little oil is getting in to cylinders causing that smoke once it warms up that gasket is expanding thus the smoke stops. I would keep an eye on oil levels if it gets milky replace gasket asap. Could also be intake gasket but highly doubt it this sounds like a worn head gasket.

If the white smoke is from
unburned fuel, it can be caused by any of the following.
Low compression caused by worn or damaged piston rings, a blown head gasket or a cracked head.
Poorly injected fuel caused by a faulty or leaking injector or from a faulty fuel pump.
A badly timed engine, there may be a possibility of the cam belt having jumped a toot if it is worn.

yes there is a know problem with the fuel system. fuel pump breaks down, empty your fuel filter into a bowl and check for metalic, if you have this in the filter your pump is F..... along with all the other common rail stuff. expensive job... error codes though, i find that hard to believe, fuel pressure faults will occur, i think you garage does not know what to do. or does not want to tell you the cost of the job and he will be in doubt himself of wether he is right..... was you engine coil light flashing at any point.!!!

This is caused by the little circuit board that runs the speedo or a Vehicle Speed Sensor problem, have any Kragen auto or Auto Zone run a trouble code test to see if a VSS trouble code is present in the memory, if nothing shows replace the speedometer or have it repaired, if there is a code for the VSS replace the sensor on the transmission.
