Where is the thermostat located on my 2000 pontica grand am. Also is it hard to replace. A video would be helpful.

The thermostat is always located on the engine follow the top radiator hose the to the engine and the thermostat is behind where the hose leads should be 2 bolts just pull them off and thers the thermostat

Just follow the Upper Radiator Hose from the Radiator the the Motor and where it attaches to the Motor there is a Bell housing. Reove the Hose and Bell Housing and it is Underneath the Bell Housing. Looks just like a U.F.O.

SOURCE: how do I change the

follow top radiator hose from radiator to engine wear hose ends, it will be clamped to whats called the gooseneck, thermostat is under that. you will have to drain coolant, not all, maybe 1 half gal. before you remove it. 2 bolts new gasget new thermostat, just remember spring on new thermostat goes in engine.

if you follow the top radiator hose to the engine you will find the thermostat...there shuld be a clamp holding the hose on the housing and there are two bolts that hold the thermostat housing on. once you pull the two bolts you will see the thermostat

The clock spring is located under the steering wheel, the airbag must be disarmed (if not done correctly can can serious injury) and the steering wheel removed to replace it, a dealer will charge about $200 for this repair.

I have what appears to be a broken 9L3Z8592B (thermostat housing) from a 2000 Grand Marquis. How big a deal is that to replace? The part's cheap enough...


its not hard to replace and while your there change the thermostat and gasket(seal) and the anti-freeze if it hasn`t been changed.make sure all the air is out of the system after refilling.

Locate the top radiator hose...follow it down to the motor...the housing that the hose connects to is where the thermostat is..usually there are 2 screws to remove and then it just comes up and the thermostat is inside

  1. On 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8
  2. Remove lower radiator hose clamp and lower radiator hose at thermostat housing.
  3. Remove thermostat housing mounting bolts, thermostat housing and thermostat.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l v6
Note:on the In-line 6 4.0L model the thermostat housing is mounted at the top of the engine block next to the water pump.
