It sound like you could have two problems one is you might have a bad head gasket two u could have a bunch of air in you radiator so i would start the with the radiator cap off and see what happens if its air this should take care of the problem

SOURCE: replaced water pump engine overheats

You still have air in the system. remove the radiator cap, if you have one, if not remove the resevoir cap. start the car and let it warm up to operating temperture. keep check on the level and fill as necessary. you may have to do ths a couple of times.

DID YOU BLEED THE COOLING SYSTEM.THIS VECHICLE WHEN YOU REMOVE MOST OF THE COOLANT TO REPLACE WATER PUMP OR RADIATOR AND THERMOSTAT YOU HAVE TO BLEED OUT THE AIR TO GET COOLANT TO CIRCULATE PROPERLY. TO BLEED COOLANT SYSTEM WITH ENGINE COOL LOCATE BLEEDER SCREW AT WATER PUMP BY HOSE OPEN BLEEDER SCREW A LITTLE TO LET SOME AIR OUT WHILE YOU.POUR ANTIFREEZE IN RADIATOR.WHEN RADIATOR COOLANT LEVEL STOP DROPPING CLOSE BLEEDER SCREW AT WATER PUMP BYPASS HOSE.START ENGINE LET IDLE UNTIL GET WARM AND COOLANT DROPS IN RADIATOR ADD MORE COOLANT.WHEN COOLANT START RISING AT RADIATOR.PUT CAP ON RADIATOR LET VECHICLE IDLE A LITTLE AT A TIME.UNTIL THERMOSTAT OPENS THEN YOU CAN WAIT A LITTLE WHILE TAKE A LARGE RAG OVER RADIATOR CAP OPEN A LITTLE YOU WILL HEAR AIR STEAM HISS THROUGH CAP BUT DONT OPEN ALL THE WAY.WHEN HISSING STOP SLOWLY OPEN RADIATOR CAP A LITTLE AT A TIME SO YOU WONT GET SCALDED.YOU CRANK ENGINE UP A LITTLE STOP WAIT A WHILE BEFORE OPEN RADIATOR CAP.KEEP DOING THIS PROCEDURE UNTIL RADIATOR COOLANT STOP DROPPING.WHEN COOLANT STOP DROPPING.BLEEDING COOLANT SYSTEM COMPLETE.IF VECHICLE KEEP OVER HEATING CHECK OIL CRANK CASE LOOK LIKE MILK SHAKE YOU HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET.

Monte carlo blows cold air and overheats

It really runs hot within a minute of starting ?
An engine that runs hot in a few minutes is often having problems with the water pump or a blockage in the cooling system. The thermostat does not open until 195 degrees which takes 5 or 10 miles of driving.
During that time, the water pump should be circulating coolant in the block and the heater hoses.
A leaking head gasket should be putting extra pressure into the cooling system, and-or dumping coolant into the cylinders which would come out the exhaust pipe. But it should still take a few minutes for the engine to reach the boiling point of 240 degrees.

Car overheating replaced everything and still overheats

try a pressure test on the radiator while it engine is running.. If your head gasket is broken the compression of the engine goes into the cooling system. If the pressure rapidy increases it would indicate a head gasket problem.

2001 monte carlo ls 3.4 overheats!! replaced everything

You have to bleed the air out of the system. There are 1 maybe 2 bleeders on the front of the engine on the cooling system bypass pipe one near the upper hose the the othe on the drivers side of the pipe. They are brass with a small bleeder valve in the middle. Get the car up to temperature and take your time to allow all the air out. Refill cooling system after it cools. Hope you didn't do any damage running it hot.

indicates an air lock in the cooling system
could be from a failing head gasket ( do a compression test)
have a coolant pressure test done to find the leak
possible a water pump seal leaking when running
check sump oil for greying color ( failure of the housing behind the pump impeller

200w cheve monte carlo overheating, changed, radiator, water pump.

Change the thermostat and the coolat resevoir cap. These are the 2 main things for overheating problems. The thermostat sticks and the cap will let coolant escape from the tank, after a couple of trips the engine overheats. Also make sure your cooling fans are coming on. Physically pull the relays and all fuses, as the do lose contact.

Check the thermostat, if it isn't opening when engine warms up, the coolant in the engine will overheat and make pressure in the cooling system but the fluid in the radiator will still be cold.

96 monte carlo coolant problems;changed thermostat, added coolant, fans came on; car overheats and coolant hot light comes on and car shuts off

Is coolant flowing through the radiator? Possible water pump, radiator blockage, or air flow to/through the radiator blocked or restricted. When the fans come on is there warm air coming from them?

Good Luck
