Hi, carb. shooting up gas & flooding on 1989 Dodge D50 2.0L mits

A carb repair kit and float did not change the problem. The truck only has about 120,000 miles on it. Speeds of over 80mph were reached just before the problem began. Do you know what, if anything, will fix this? Thanks for any help!

Also check the float level, if not set to the right height float will cause too much gas to be sent to the bowl. you do this by bending the small tab on the back of the float. one way makes the float shut off sooner and the other makes it shut off fuel later. also check the fuel air mixture no small task on the mikuni carb.

85 jeep cherokee 2.5l runs fine on level ground but the carb floods when I'm going up hills? Any solutions? Its been tuned up new plugs and wires and everything but why is it flooding?

Your carb is needing to be rebuilt the seals and float and valve seat may be damage. The float opens when the fuel level in the carb is low. If the valve seat is damaged or the float is not working. Gas can keep pouring into the carb resulting in extra fuel. Till the engine stops and fuel pump pressure stops pushing fuel it will keep pouring fuel and will not stop till rebuilt correcting the problems. Buy rebuild kit and rebuild it or try junkyard and replace it.

How to adjust my toyota 4k carb installed in 2e engine?

probably the most hard question ever posted in faxya.

how to tune any carb.

google it and read for 1 full day..

endless story.

how id do it is different than you, or old school.

I have a wide band oxygen sensor i can put on any car.

and tune anything. (gas)

the jets need tuning.

here it the steps before

1: 100% clean every inch, (called "boiling out the carb") or kemdipped.

2: kitted, put in a carb kit, gaskets, and all the bits.

3: make sure choke works. turns off , on a hot engine, if not MPG WILL SUCK.

4: fuel pressure as spec. not 15psi,., better is 3.

5: float level to spec. (new carb)

6: tune it. (thats the long story.)

done many. and have cars in my barn that use carbs and motorcycles.

My 1983 Nissan Sentra stalls while driving

Possibly. Open up carb and remove float to make sure that it does float. If they get a hold in them they will fill with gas and flooding exists. Also clean out with carb cleaner paying close attention to the needle and seat valve connected to float. They too can be the cauue of a flooding condition.

My jag smells like as if it was flooding when i try to start it, when it does start it idles fine but as soon as I rev it up it bogs out, please help me as i really can`t afford to take it to a mechanic,...

Well first off what year and kind of Jag is it?That will make a difference on what might be the problem. If it is a carbureted model, it sounds like you either have a simple fuel line leak going to the carb so when your car sits fuel drips out and gives you the gas smell and then sucks air when you rev it up.If there is no line leak, sounds like your float in the carb is sticking open and simply flooding the carbs with gas, hence the smell and the bogging out at rpm.You would need a carb rebuild kit with float to fix that problem. That way you have gaskets and floats to fix your carb.

Carb gas pouring out of hole on top front of carb

Sounds like the float has absorbed gasoline and can't ftoat anymore. This causes the fuel to not be shut off when float bowl is full causing the carb to flood. You will have to buy a carb kit and a float and rebuild the carb. Hope this helps.
