SOURCE: 1999 dodge durango heater core

It's a big job. Drain the coolant down, recover the freon in the ac system and disconnect the lines and heater hoses. Lower the steering column, remove the instrument panel assembly, remove the heater housing. Split the case halves on the housing and there you are. Usually around 500 to 700 dollars at a dealership.

SOURCE: 2000 Dodge RAM no HEAT/ New heater core / AC evap.

There is a actuator on the right side of your leg while sitting in the drivers seat under the dash. It has a plastic rod for actuation manually actuate this diverter and should be the problem.

1999 durango vent control switch will not let AC blow threw vents only defrost

Usually this is a problem with the blend doors under the dash. You either have a vac leak, a dead motor, or a faulty door.
The control opens and closes the doors to direct air thru the heater core and evaporator core along with directing air thru the vents.
When a problem occurs, the default position is the defrost vents to make sure the windshield remains clear.
You can do an internet search for "repair durango blend door" for more info.

I have a 2006 dodge grand caravan that is leaking either power steering or antifreeze. The power steering is full but there was redish orange liquid leaking. The antifreeze is low and a horrible smell...

The horrible smell is antifreeze leaking from the heater core. This is the more serious of two leaks. You might be able to fix it with some stop leak. You can also tighten the power steering hoses.

Truck is blowing vapors out of heating vents...fogs inside of truck

This is usually a sign of a heater core that has a leak. check for low coolant level in your radiator. there is a condensate drain for the blower box, see if coolant is dripping from the drain under the truck. To make a temporary repair, after confirming leaking heater core, loop one of the heater core hoses back to the engine, bypassing the heater core. I say after confirming because the heater core hose nipples break easily when removing hoses. The smell in the cab would be a sweet smell from leaking coolant.

On a very humid day fog can be seen coming out of vents when using the AC. This would be a normal condition.

Wife has a 2006 Dodge Caravan, she said smoke without a smell was coming from her a/c vents, but only when using outside air not on recir. there was not a sweet smell , or a burning smell, but the outside...

Could be a leaking valve cover gasket or some other leak being picked up at the cowl vent and pumped into the van. Your heater fan fresh air inlet is at your passenger side wiper arm.

Textbook bad heater core symptom. Might be a blown/leaking heater hose....but I doubt it. My monies are on a bad heater core.

I have smoke/steam coming out of my AC vents on my 2000 dodge durango weather the air is on or not. Only when it gets up to operating temp. There are no other mechanical problems. What could cause this?

a leaking heater core in the dash . does it smell sweet if it does it's antifreeze and steam that's sticky on the window is antifreeze mist coming from the fan blower / your heater core has sprung a leak im sorry to say.

Steam out of vents no moisture on floor board and temp is normal

if it smells like coolant and the heat is on the heater core is leaking. if you are getting this with the ac on the evaporator is freazing up probably because the electric fan under the hood is not working correctly
