Ashleyy_ryan that year maxima can have 3 or 4 oxygen sensors 2 pre cat and 1 post cat or 2 pre cat and 2 post cat depending on the production date. the best way to find them -i found- is to start at the front of the engines exhaust manifold and follow it down you will see the exhaust go up to the rear of the engine follow it as well they are hard to see. the best way to see them is from under the car.--2000 maxima

Here is the location of the O2 sensor, Under hood, center, lower engine area, rear center of engine, mounted in exhaust manifold

and here is the location of the PVC valve, Under hood, center, upper engine area, mounted in intake manifold

So to your problem there is only one oxygen sensor according to your repair guide. If you need any other info on parts and location you can try Auto Zone .com

It shoudn't be. Your oxygen sensors detect the oxygen in the engine. A misfire can be a few things, such as spark plugs/coils, wires, distributor cap and rotor, cam sensor, crank sensor, ecm. I would start with a tune up. If it has been more then 75,000 miles since you changed the plugs and wires, it could be that. Has it been acting up, such as hesitations, stalling when you slow down or stop?

If it's a v6 then you have 3 sensors 1 at each bank and 1 after the converter , 4 cyl. has 2 . It gets costly replacing things with out knowing what the problem realy is. You have it scanned.

After replacing an oxygen sensor, how can i reset

U can reset the light with a OBD 2 code reader (prefered method) or u can disconnect the battery NEGATIVE cable for 5 minutes, this erases everything including radio stations and time settings, so if u klnow anyone with a OBD 2 code reader do it that way.

2oo0 chevy blazer cel and code p0171 and p0174

Depending on the engine it will have between 4 and 2.

If you had a straight 4 or 6 engine then there would be only 2, one on the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe and then one just after the catalytic converter.

If you have a "V" engine (V8, V6) then you have an oxygen sensor on each exhaust manifold and will have a catalytic converter for each bank of the V. There will also be an oxygen sensor downstream of each converter as well. In this case there would be 4 oxygen sensors.
