SOURCE: 1991 Dodge Daytona Speedometer and Odometer not working.

I had the same problem with my 90 daytona. The tach and the speedometer would work intermitantly. I took the whole gauge cluster out, and heated all the soldering with a solder gun to reflow the connections. It seems that this is a common problem with the connections cracking. You may not be able to see the cracks in the solder.

SOURCE: Gas gauge reading is erratic.

Your sending unit is getting flaky - it's a known issue. You can repair it though, rather than buy a new sender.

Do not do this job with any more than a 1/4 tank of gas or you'll get a fuel bath in the trunk.

Here's a DIY procedure on how to do it - 99% of the time on these cars, when there's a gas gauge issue, it's the broken wire they show in the procedure. I was out of solder at the time I fixed mine, so I used barrel clamp connectors to crimp a jumper wire into place on the broken ends of the wire, and that fixed it permanently.

Here's the link:)

Instead of replacing the sender, fix the visibly broken wire and it'll fix the failure.

2003. 2wheel dr 150 p.u. I. Put smaller tire on because back problems getting in .now at 60 mph dash odometer reads 69 mph . Is there something I can do . So odometer would be correct.

there are different speedo gears in the transmission available that will allow for some ratio changes in the diff so check with a dealer spares to see if any are available for your vehicle
when you say smaller tire , is it a smaller diameter rim that was fitted
if that is the case by fitting a larger tire case may get back closer to the correct reading
by that I mean for example a 195 25 r14 case can be replaced by a 195 95 r14 case as the difference is in the 25 to 95 measurement
the 25 measurement makes for the rim almost touching the ground where the 95 dimension stands the rim well up off the road and because of that the distance covered in 1 revolution is far different to the distance covered in 1 revolution by the 25 size tire
that solution may put the car back too high for your back problem so if the gears replacement is not possible , then a last solution may be to find an instrument repair shop and have the gauge re- calibrated to the correct reading according to the speedo gears in the transmission
if it is auto with a VSS unit that signals the speedo there may be changes in that area that are possible

I got a 1998 SVT cobra my speedometer seems to be reading 10 mph faster than what I'm going what would cause that ? at highway speeds it says 80mph when going 70 just bought the car

check rim sizes and tires fitted as they may be smaller than the speedo sender is gear ed for
smaller dia. tires = faster speedo reading as the speedo reads off drive shaft speed

I need to know if my 2005 Suzuki Forenza has a BCM or BCU? And if so where is it located? Because I know that some 2005 model vehicles have it and my odometer has stopped working. I had a 2002 Saturn SC2...

you are guessing. there is no need to.
state country and car, ok 05 Forenza.but what country.?
do not confuse Saturn with any Suzuki they are not bothers.
not at ALL.
what counts is the country and VIN.

State side, the car has OBD2 ECU/PCM. and here, we connect a
scan tool and see MPH. does yours show good MPH?
this is the first test, preventing vast guessing and $$$ wasted
and no photos of objects , no guesses.
try posting the full symptoms, and let the tech work the issue.

1: is Speedo MPH dead, or acting up.?
2: is only the odometer dead?
and most cars changing out he speedo head, will fail.
with out a factory scan tool (id dont care what the saturn did,)
on newer cars, you must train the PCM/ BCM to accept a new speedo head. (federal rules....)

btw, its all here, read the online FSM ,for how to test and repair the ODOMETER.

on some cars 2004 and newer , use the CAN buss.
this is a communications buss all newer cars use, usa.
at some point, the ECU tells the BCM the mileage and
the BCM send this data to the speedo processor.
that is a complex path, and trying to guess, $3000 of electronics
is not a good idea. eg. swapping all 3? 1 by 1?
The book shows how to find out , where this path is broken.
on old cars, the cable is broken (gears) or head is bad.
on new cars, it's vastly more complex, foiling dealer tampers...etc.
btw2 there are cheap tools to find these facts.

Speedo and rev counter reading even when engine is off!

I have a similar problems on my 2005 9-3. It has developed a number of minor electical issues. including dial and false warning light triggers. I have fixed most of them by simply going round the car disconnecting the electical connectors and spraying "switch cleaner" (Maplin or Radio Shack).
The only problem I have left is the rev counter occasionally starts reading high, removing the fuse (end of dash panel - 4th fuse down) for about 30s with engine off normally resets everything back to normal.
Hope that helps.

The speedometer reads 70-80mph while in park but the rpms are around 2000. when put into gear it drops back to 0 mph. is that a cluster problem or a speed sensor?

it is problem with speedo sensor coz if it is problem with cluster then when you putting gear it should not get drop, while shifting gear that sensor getting some vibrations so it shows some deflections . replace sensor and solve your problem, thanks.

The speedo in my 95 mustang Gt Is 10 miles an hour fast

A vehicle speed sensor that is starting to fail could cause this, or less than likely bad wiring or connections, or yes, a bad cluster could do this... But how exactly did she notice the speedometer was 10MPH fast?? There are no real accurate speedometers in vehicles (Don't get me wrong they shouldn't be off by 10MPH) but there is a 5 or so percent difference high or low in many vehicles even with stock powertrains. I've plugged in with a diagnostic scanner on many vehicles and the dash speedo shows 60MPH, but the electronic speed readout on the scanner reads as low as 55MPH or as high as 65MPH
