Question about Cars & Trucks
Hello I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE and the airbag warning light is on. I took it to a mechanic & they ran a diagnostic of the issue. I was told that I have a faulty passenger side seat belt assembly, so I had them order me a new one. My question is, when I receive the new assembly, can I install it myself? The mechanic warned against it saying that I would need to re-program the computer in the car so it would "accept" the new part. Is this true? The part is pretty expensive & I don't want to screw it up if I were to install it myself it myself. I don't have computer reading or programming software for the Hyundai. It was suggested by another "mechanic" friend suggested that I may not need to program the computer to "accept" the new part. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
