SOURCE: I own a ford escape 2003 2L, the auxiliary power

The fuse for the power outlet is located under the hood in the fuse/relay box, heres a few diagrams to help you, there are two fuses one for front outlet and the rear outlet has its on fuse if your truck has a rear outlet, hope this helps,johnjohn2_46.gifjohnjohn2_47.gifjohnjohn2_48.gifjohnjohn2_49.gif

Auxiliary power outlet doesn't work. Checked the fuses everything seems fine

Although you did not specify how you checked the fuses, I surmise you used either a light tester at the fuse panel or an ohm meter, since visual inspections can be deceiving.

I will safely guess that this auxiliary power outlet works whether the ignition key is turned on or off and that you checked for voltage while the ignition key was turned in any position, just the same...

In as much as there is a fuse box in the cabin compartment of the car, there is a power distribution panel inside the engine compartment that contains fuses too...and they were checked(?)

I would check for continuity between the pin (base of the socket) and the ground (walls of the socket.) If there is no continuity, most likely the fusible link built-in to the socket- melted as a result of high current draw.

A fusible link is placed within the circuit of the socket itself, for wiring protection, so that you don't damage any other component that's wired on the same circuit (and/or cause a fire in the wiring harness due to the high current draw.)...and you don't necessarily have to blow a fuse at the box or at the distribution panel to have a power loss at the auxiliary power outlet's socket.

Other possibilities to consider, the wires to the socket could have oxidized, frayed; loosened; broke or become disconnected; or the socket itself could be damaged and gone bad (i.e- the fusible link.)

You can also have a break in the wires somewhere else down the line and not at the outlet's socket itself.

Keep blowing ecu fuse on 1996 Hyundai elantra

do you have an auxiliary cigar lighter or power outlet? Usually located in the console. The ECU power circuit is routed through the cigar lighter or auxiliary power outlet. disconnect auxiliary power and check again.

Cant find fuse for the auxillary power plug

the front auxiliary outlet is fed by the c/ltr fuse (the same fuse for the cigarette lighter. The rear auxiliary outlet is fed by the aux power fuse in the under hood fuse block. You can use a test light to quickly check for blown fuses. Sometimes you can use a flashlight and just look at them while there in the fuse block to see if they are blown or not.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help. Thank you for using fixya.com!

My cigarette lighter is not charging in my car what could it be?

You mean there seems to be no power to the vehicle's lighter unit outlet.

This lighter unit outlet is normally wired through its own fuse so check the fuse panel in the car for a blown fuse. If blown it must be replaced with a fuse of the correct amperage. The owner's manual will show you where the fuse is located.

Before you check the fuse just check the cigarette lighter outlet with another plug-in device if you have one such as a portable 12 volt tire compressor or a 12 volt plug-in auxiliary light. It could be that if you are using a charger from the outlet, the charger plug or wiring may be faulty rather than the car's power outlet itself. (These outlets don't usually give trouble unless the wiring has been messed with or the outlet itself has been damaged or abused).

If no device works from the lighter power outlet check the fuse as it may be blown.
