You need to take the window crank off.  There should either be a screw/bolt going straight into the handle where it is attached to the door (there may be a cover over it) or a clip on the back of the handle.  If there is no screw pry the handle out gently and look between the handle and the door panel - take a small screwdriver and pop off the clip holding the handle on.

Were can i get replacement window been smashed on passenger side sliding door

Typically it would be much easier and cheaper to replace the whole door as permanent auto glass is difficult to remove even for professionals. Try calling auto recyclers in your area, many will offer to bring in the part you need if they don't have it. If you need any more advice or instructions on how to change the door please feel free to contact me through my website www.autoabsolute.ca I can send you a video of the repair. Home

How do i take the entire drivers side door off of my 2011 HHR? Its a DIY project n cant afford what the insurance isnt covering. My car was T-boned and wont even open. Basically smashed shut.

You need to have the door forced open before you can access the hinges and remove it.
Remove the interior door trim and the door can be unbolted at the door hinge area. Examine the door on the undamaged passenger side before you do anything.

My VW passat 2001 model has passenger door electric window stuck. I can hear the motor running on the door. How can I fix this problem.

The window regulator or plastic tabs attached to the glass is likely broken and will need to be replaced, if you can hear the motor running but the glass does not move. If you're handy with fixing cars, you can purchase a window regulator and change it out fairly easily by removing the door panel and swapping the regulator out. If the plastic tabs on the glass are broken, you will have to take it to an auto glass shop to have new tabs replaced on the glass.

How do I realign the passenger side window?

WINDOW GLASS REMOVAL

NOTE: Window glass must be operable in order to remove door assembly carrier. Any malfunction that prevents the window (manual or power) from being lowered must be corrected before proceeding.

  • Remove door trim panel.
  • Pry out sealing plugs in door assembly carrier to gain access to window glass securing bolts.
  • Lower window until window glass securing bolts are accessible.
NOTE:
If the power window motor is not working it can be renmoved to allow the window to be slid down.

  • Loosen window glass securing bolts and carefully press glass securing clamps apart.
NOTE:
If glass is being replaced due to breakage, remove door assembly carrier and remove broken shards of glass to prevent rattling noises in door.

  • Carefully lower the window regulator.
  • Lift window glass up and pivot forward, starting at the taller end of the glass. Pivot forward towards the direction of the side mirror.
  • Place removed window glass in a secure location.
WINDOW GLASS INSTALLATION

  • Slide forward part of window glass into opening and pivot glass downward, reversing the removal proceedure.
  • Raise window regulator until window glass securing bolts are visible in access holes on door assembly carrier.
  • Gently press window in the direction of the door latch or highest part of glass and tighten securing clamp bolts.
  • Remainder of installation is the reverse of disassembly.
  • Check operation of window before final installation of door trim panel.

I need to replace the rear driver side window...the tiny one

remove the interior cover of your rear door. you will find this small metal post with size 10 bolts holding your glass. take out the bolts and loosen it to insert your new glass. if some door mechanism gets in your way, loosen it a little to give you space. its a bit tight there.

Rear passenger electric window stuck in down position

That happened to mine, too. The cable that raises and lowers the window broke. I needed a new window motor assembly. If I recall, I got one used for less than $30, and I know I was able to replace it myself, curbside without special tools. You just need to make sure the window glass is taped up and unable to crash once you remove the old motor. The hardest part for me was figuring out how to remove the interior door assembly!
