Question about 2001 Dodge Caravan

01 Grand Caravan wiring problem

I have an 01 G/Caravan that is blowing fuses - it first blew the fuses for the right headlamp and the instrument cluster - I replaced the fuses and it was fine for a few weeks, then the same fuses blew along with the other headlamp fuse and the blower resistor burned out also.  Now when I replace the fuses they blow immediately.  I first thought the voltage regulator may have gone bad and was surging but it does it even when the van is not running.  I did find a ground strap that was corroded and broken - replaced that but not change.  I have been tracing wires looking for a short and have not found anything as of yet.  Anyone having ideas/suggestions or an answer would be much appreciated.

Found a corroded / shorted wiring harness below the TCM in front of the left front wheel.  Repaired the wires - now works fine.

Fuse keeps blowing dash lights and tail lights dont work jeep cherokee sport 1999

There are several fuses involved. I need to know which one(s). As for the taillights, the primary power source is 20A fuse 17 in the power distribution center. The tan/blk wire connects to the headlamp switch which, in park position, applies +12 volts through 10A fuse 7 in the junction block to the left tail light. The headlamp switch, in park position, also apples +12 volts through 10A fuse 23 in the junction block to the right tail light.

I need to know which fuse is blowing the instrument lights so you will have to follow up

Radio and center car instrument panel went out changed fuse and it blew out upon connecting

You have a dead short somewhere. Try disconnecting the radio and replacing the fuse. If the fuse blows you'll know that radio isn't the problem. Try accessing and inspecting the wiring, you may have a grounded wire somewhere.

Instrument panel lights out on 01 Dodge Grand

These vans have had issues with the PIN connections to the instrument clusters. With time the solder on the main PIN connection will begin to fail. The good news this may be repaired at home. First you'll need to remove the instruments. To do so remove the dash components from around the instruments then the (4) screws) that hold the instruments in place. Carefully detach the wire connection from the back of it; take to a well lit area. Look for a PIN with a failed solder joint (this will appear as a slight black or grey circle. If found apply heat and let solder be gin to flow; the allow to cool and reassemble. If you look at my history you'll see I've helped others with this issue. 01 Dodge Grand Caravan dash lights go off with turn signal...

I had this problem right after I had my battery replaced. Not believing in coincidences, I took it to a friend who checked the battery and cables. Looking at the battery cables, there are small wires that attach to a thicker cable which go to the clamp that attaches to the battery terminal. The battery installer cleaned the corrosion off the clamp and the battery cable, but the connection between the small wires and the larger cable still had corrosion between them. My friend cleaned off this area, and the problem is gone.

After the body worked on my 2002 dodge grand

disconnect the negative battery wire, wait ten minutes and reconnect. My husband and I tried this after he did some research on the web. We were not very hopeful, but it worked - we are so excited, it's tough driving at night without the dash lights on - how fast, etc. Good luck.

Dash and shifter lights in 1996 jeep cherokee wont light

Hello and welcome to FixYa . Locate the dial that controls the brightness of the dashboardlights. If the control is not immediately evident. Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problem may be a bad fuse. Check the fuse that controls the dashboard lights Replace the fuse if necessary. If just one part of the instrument panel is not lighting up, then you have either a burned-out bulb or a wiring problem.

2002 Dodge caravan instrument cluster and signals are not working. All fuses are good.Help!

Well if you checked all of the fuses, then most likely the wire harness that is plugged into you gauge cluster from inside the dash either came loose or your gauges cluster is faulty and blew out. I would check to see if that wire harness came loose and if it didnt then your probably going to have to replace that whole gauge cluster. Check around on ebay then are pretty cheap on there.
