Question about 2000 Porsche Boxster
I bought a lighter and socket replacement (Porsche original part) for 2000 Boxster S. How do I get the old socket out? Looks like it's just a "friction" install.

It can only be done using the key fob. Othersise use button inside the car. If your battery is flat you need a donor battery wiring to a connection in the fuse box (positive) anf door lock(negative) but see your hand book.

I had the same problem and was about to take the car to the dealership tomorrow, but I decided to try disconnecting the battery and see if it would reset itself. When I reconnected the battery the odometer mileage went back to where it was before I changed the battery. It worked!
Maybe it will work for you. Good luck!

i presume little led in fob flashes when button pressed. Key needs to be initialised. Put key in door lock or ignition barrel and press unlock button watching led on dash, this should flash. remove key from lock, remote should now work

Open the trunk of your car. On the passenger side along the firewall, you should see a plastic panel on the carpeted lining. This gives you access to your coolant reservoir tank
