SOUND LIKE YOUR HOOD LATCH IS STUCK IN THE RELEASE POSITION. YOU CAN DO TWO THINGS. REPLACE YOUR HOOD LATCH OR PUSH THE LATCH BACK INTO POSITION MANUALLY EVERYTIME YOU OPEN YOUR HOOD. IT'S EASY. FIRST CHECK YOUR HOOD RELEASE LEVER (DRIVER SIDE KICK PANEL)AND MAKE SURE IT'S MOVING FREELY. IF LEVER IS OK,GO TO YOUR HOOD LATCH. LOOK TO THE RIGHT OF THE LATCH (LOOK DOWN FROM THE TOP VIEW)AND YOU'LL SEE A SMALL METAL BAR WITH A SPRING PULLING DOWN ON IT(MIGHT NEED FLASH LIGHT TO SEE BAR AND SPRING). TAKE A FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER AND PUSH DOWN ON THE METAL BAR WHERE SPRING CONNECT. THE BAR SURE MOVE ABOUT 1/4 INCH DOWN. CLOSE YOU HOOD AND YOU'RE DONE. YOU JUST HAVE TO PUSH THE BAR DOWN EVERYTIME YOU OPEN IT.

SOURCE: my 2002 honda civic hood seems to be stuck on open when i close it the hood stays down by the safety latch only i drop it from diffrent heights press on it hard and it still wont close??

It is possible the latch needs a clean and relube. clean area in latch with brake clean or similar product and lube with white lithium grease.

or.

the stops on the front corners are too high and need adjustment.

also make sure the latch is in the open position it may have gotten stuck.

When i close my hood it latches but does not close. i bought a new and it still does not work. is there a fuse for it that i am missing

Check that the rubber buffers have not moved up causing the hood to not come down fully. Also check that the bullet shaped catch has not come loose and moved up, preventing it from catching on the latching lever. Have a look that the latching lever that is pulled by the cable from the cab has not stuck, although you did say that you replaced the latch.

I have 2002 Honday Odyssey. Recently, the alarm goes off randomly. Is there any way to permanently disable alarm? Thanks.

No, but your problem might be located in the hood latch. Try unplug hood latch harness(letter A). If alarm return to normal leave it unplug or replace hood latch(letter C). Alarm system should work normally if you leave harness unplug. good luck.

The vehicle is covered by the factory warranty. Take it to your local honda dealer and they will adjust the hood latch for you.

2000 Honda Prelude hood won't fully shut

Cable is sticking, look at hood latch and push down on the thin cable. It will allow the hood to shut. my 96 Accord does the same thing.

Where is the fuse for the hazard lights and/or turn signals on a 2001 Honda Odyssey Japanese Spec?

either under the dash on the drivers side by the hood latch or under the hood on passenger side.Sometimes there are two fuse boxes under the hood. The fuses are clearly marked.
