Porsche 997 flat battery so I cannot open bonnet

Reach over the drivers side front tire in wheel well.  Reach around trim in upper wheel well to find a cable, running front to back, pull toward you and it should release the front hood.  Previous owner showed me this emergency release in case battery goes dead and I have recently had to use it myself on my 1998 Boxster.

If you open fusebox in footwell there is a RED section you pull out by fuse removal tool-this can be used as a permenant feed for a battery jump pack-red lead on the Red in fusebox and black on door check strap this will give you power to open front boot to get to battery.

Your best bet is adding voltage through the cigarette lighter. Go down to radio shack and buy a cigarette plug. Wire it up to a small 12 volt battery. This should give enough juice to pop the bonnet.

I used a cigarette lighter (male plugs on both sides). Connect to your car and another car. Wait a while. When the battery is charged a little, the front bonnet will open. You will need to recode your radio (http://www.a2dvoices.com/realitycheck/porsche/).

Some years also have a power post the pulls out by the fuse box.
