SOURCE: how to remove a dash from a 91 chevrolet pickup

remove all the screws from around the dash then lower tilt wheel if it has one. pull the insert dash tword you and reach in behind it and undo the clip that holds the speedometer cable in place .. this is a snap just pull the clip forward and the speedometer cable will come free.. when putting back just push it in and it will snap in place. Also there is a wire cluster you will have to release on the back of this dash which is held in with a plastic clip which you will be able to see after getting the speedometer cable loose... just release the clip and pull the wires out from behind the dash .. thanks and holler if you need more. SOURCE: The 1984 Toyota 4x4 pickup truck will not idle

On a 1984 Toyota I would look for a screw to set the low speed idle on the carburetor, if so equipped. Turn the screw until the RPMs are reasonable.

If you can maintain a smooth idle by adjusting the screw your home free.

If not, then there could be other problems with your vehicle's emission, ignition, comprression, or fuel.

I have a 1985 toyota pickup, 2wd, carborated, I cannot find the fuel filter, where is it located?

The stock fuel filter is located just in front of the rear tire on the passenger side of the truck. It may have a cover over it. Make sure your tank is almost empty before removing the old filter otherwise it can get messy with gas all over the place.

I have a 1985 toyota pickup 2wd. the passenger rear end brakes locked or freezed and dont know how to fix it

Rear wheel cylinder by that are often bind up from corrosion.
But by turning the adjusters down, through the port in the back of the backing plate, you should be able to get the drum off. Then you loose then brake line, remove the shoes, take the cylinder retaining bolt out, and the cylinder should come right out.
When you install the new one, fill it with brake fluid first, and there will be less air to bleed out.
If you want to be cheap, you can probably leave the old cylinder in, take it apart where it sits, hone it out, and put in new rubber seals, use a lot of brake grease, and you can do it for about $10.

The cigarette lighter wires are disconnected in my 1985 Toyota 2wd pickup. How can I tell which wires I need if there is small of wires hanging down behind the console?

Just get a test light and see which , if any of the wires hanging down have power to them. Run one with power to the lighter. Then you need a ground wire. The origional ones should have plugs on the end that fit the prong on the lighter.
