Question about 2000 Mazda MPV
I flushed because i have no heat inside the car. it is blowing cold air on all settings.
Besides that is usually the case
Have to draw out with turkey baster or remove
the degas bottle & wash out if that is what you want
Changing the coolant has nothing to do with no heat
The thermostat may be stuck open or you have a coolant
valve in the heater system to check out or hvac doors under
the dash that hang up

i had the same thing on my wifes 2000 mpv van...the ends of the radiator are made of some sort of composite type material....it had a slight crack in it....wasn't obvious until it got worse and started streaming water from it when warmed up....even after it cooled enough not to be spewing it was hard to actually see the crack though a few inches long....was hard to even see where the water and antifreeze mixture was coming from until i took out the radiator

The heater lines that run to the back of the right rear side gets rusty and start to leak anti-freeze. There is a black cover under and above the RR tire that has to be removed so u can see.

You probably never cleaned the cooling system out.
If you have not get it done by pros.
It seems something is blocking the flow. If the water pump went bad you will know. Rarely ever heard a impeller breaks off like you think. The bearings and the seal break first.
Check and see also if the heater valve is working.
As for the over heating even new thermostats fail. Reverse flush is needed or the procan measure the pressure in the radiator cooling system and edetermine if there is a engine pressure problem. Tools and experience is the key in the game of diagnosis.
