Check your air filter. Also check for vacuum leaks on the intake.

Check for a possible dirty air filter. Especially if it a Diesel engine. I've actually seen a power stroke Diesel engine **** a clogged air filter into the motor. Not check for vacuum leaks. Make sure your hoses are all connected and not leaking vacuum. Lastly this may sound crazy but certain power stroke Diesel engine need a certain oil pressure. Low oil will cause the injectors to malfunction. I've actually seen this happen as well when working at a Ford dealership. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: idles high

Zab, First things first, check for any vacuum leaks, hoses that are disconnected, cracked or just plain worn out. Also check for vacuum leaks around the throttle body.
It really sounds like you have an EGR valve that is stuck open ever so slightly. The MAP sensor is a result of a low manifold vacuum. The IAC (idle air control) motor is trying to compesate and keep the engine running resulting in the high idle speed. I would remove the EGR valve and clean it gently with a brush and pick to remove any carbon build up.
Let me know, regards.

Please be fast about checking your fuel pump. It is not giving enough fuel pressure.

SOURCE: hesitates at wide open throttle

Could be as simple as new wires. Try turning on the truck at night and check to see if your wires are not arching to the engine block/manifold. Trust me if the wires are bad you'll see it at night. If they are, they need to be replaced along with the spark plugs as this will foul the plugs because of impropper detonation.

1997 acura cl 2.2 revs up to 1500 rpm and down to 1000 rpm just several seconds after start

Cars are design to run at a higher idle at start up to warm them up quick. There is a sensor that reads water temperature and tells your car's computer how fast to idle. Your RPMs seem slightly high but not out of the norm. Does idle ever drop to around 600/800 after about a minute? If not, your engine temperature sensor maybe defective.

01 ford f-250 4x4 with a rough idle and a slight hesitation when i dump into it,could there be an issue with the egr

The EGR Valve will be most noticable going up hill or under a load ( High Vacuum). Remove the vacuum lines, if you have them and plug, that will take the EGR out of the picture, while you work on coils or other issues.
Clean the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner.
Make sure your O2 Sensors didn't loosen up.

If the engine seems to run fine over 1450 RPM maybe there is a vacuum hose leaking or EGR valve is slightly stuck open. Any help from the OBD II trouble codes? Or is there simply no MIL and no stored information in the OBD II computer read at the local parts store through the connector by the drivers knee?

It sounds like your EGR valve is sticking, the EGR valve position sensor is bad or the EP sensor is bad.
