Question about 2003 Chevrolet Impala
That would be a good place to start , I would check it with a test light first but If you do that and it starts sounds like switch or connector terminals and or starter relay in fuse box

Funny how everyone forgot to mention gm's passlock system. you said that the ignition had been changed right? that could have triggered the passlock antitheft system which will cause your cehicle not to start. had that happen to me at a 7-11 one day. shut the car off, went in for a couple minutes and came back out to everything working but my car would not start. i continuously turned the key on and off untol it reset and started

your battery isnt holding enough charge to crank the starter.thats what the clicking is. try charging you battery for a good 8-10 hours, if it still does the same thing you'll need a new battery.

Try under the dash, attached to colum is a switch that the rod goes into from your ignition key switch, that may need to be adjusted tword your steering wheel just a touch, they go out of alignmnet from time to time
