Yes, that could easily be a thermostat going bad. Listen for you water pump as well. Symptom of that going bad is a high pitch squeal upon start up.

Will a clogged air filter cause your car not to heat up?

it will cause your engine not to run, which would never produce heat.
If your engine runs, it may be low on coolant, have frozen plumbing, a bad water pump, a leaky hose, a bad thermostat, or a clogged something. Diagnosing the symptom before buying parts pays off every time.

No heat

If you have no heat in your vehicle then it is probably the heater core which is just a small radiator that sits behind the glove box. The thermostat itself is probably located where your top radiator hose connects to your engine. It is an easy and cheap fix, just pull the hose away after undoing the clamp and you should see it. If it is not there, then it will be in the bottom hose. Hope that helps you out.

Hi...my car idles smoothly when cold, then when it gets warmed up it idles very low and i also notice my fuel consumption in the mornings after cold start is much more than when i drive the same distance...

The idle is generally higher along w the fuel consumption when cold. Poss coolant sensor,, all sensors work together to adjust idle & adjust air/fuel mixture. A bad thermos would give u other symptoms too, {bad heating/ AC) Good luck scan it 1st & have all the SENSORS READING READ & ck for codes.

No heat

These are the usual symptoms that I would normally check for if there is not heat. Of course there are other troubleshooting guides and issues but just looking at these might help:

1. low radiator fluid
2. clogged heater core
3. bad thermostat
4. heater valve not working
5. bad radiator

I hope this helped Tim

You don't mention if you have an over heating or oil leak problem?
