Question about 1998 Land Rover Range Rover
Is it a simple problem or do you have to take the doors apart and is there something that would show how to do that. It does lock and unlock with the key but won't open from the inside
Actuating rod plastic joiner clip broken and sorry the only way to fix is to take the door trim off. the part is cheap

the first thing to check is the battery(im sure you already knew that),. next step would be to take down to your nearest rover dealership and ask if there are any upgrades and they may have to reprogram your alarm system which can only be done with there diagnostic equipment.

No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.
