SOURCE: Hello.the problem with our 2000

First of all you need to access the Engine Control Module (ECM) using suitable diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's memored. DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. Then you will bu full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you will be able to repair & replace bad pieces and reset the ECM.

SOURCE: alfa 156 mis-firing

Hi i had the same prob with my 99 alfa 156. It seems that there could be a problem with the air sensor on the induction kit. If you remove the sensor and use some brake cleaner to clean it. Use gloves on dnt touch the sensor its self, and dnt use a rag or a cloth on it. Install it again after 5 or 10 mins and start the car up. It should work fine. If it does the trick check your air filter as it might be damaged and not working properly. I checked mine and found there was no filter in it at all. I found a cone filter works better for the car.

SOURCE: Alfa 156 injector number 3 not working went onto

To test:

Remove injector N° 3 and another one ( N° 2 p.ex. )
exchange both and check wich one works.
If the actual connected to 3 works, the injector is faulty, replace the injector.
If the actual N° 2 works, the problem is in the injection control box, or the engine wiring...
Check continuity in the wiring, if OK, replace the control box.

I have a renault laguna 1.8 y reg. the car drives fine till a warning light comes up saying there is a problem with the fuel injection system, the accelarator wont work but the car will still drive just...

the ECM is going into limp mode because a sensor is reporting a dangerous situation for either the engine or transmission
Have the fault codes read as this will determine the location of the fault instead of guessing.

Hi, my engine light on my ssangyong kyron 2006, comes on and when it does, when i accelarate it goes slower, please help

If the light you are referring to is the check engine light! This generates a code when on, if the light was on then it will hold the code in the memory, if you have had the codes read then they would have been able to access the code.....what is the code? From your description it sounds like your vehicle is going into limp home mode to stop further damage, retrieve the active or saved code and this will tell you where the problem area is!

1993 hyundai sonata has check engine light on and is stuck in limp mode and wont shift out of second gear

the .pcm puts it in limp mode and it will stay in mode until light is turned off. You need to get the trouble code, repair it, erase the codes (with a scanner that retrieves the codes), and then you will be out of limp home mode.

Engine hunting under accelaration

It sounds like your 9-3 is in Limp-Home mode. In which case, you are right - it is hitting a temporary limiter. The most typical of the causes I see are from an aging Direct Ignition Cassette (DIC). When there is a fault detected in the DIC module, the throttle body lets the throttle spring kick down to what is known as Limp-Home mode. Although it can be ratcheted back to the normal position, if the DIC misfire is detected again, the same will happen. I'd have a shop take an OBD-II reare to it and confirm. If it is the DIC, replace it, and have them reset the error code and the throttle body.

I hope this get you back on the road quickly with your Saab! (I drive one, too)

Tranmission wont shift

Gears inside welded together, or stuck in limp home mode. Is it stuck in a gear other than 1st or reverse? Limp home mode will select one gear, usually 2nd, when computer senses a problem with valve body pressure, or excessive heat. Either way it sounds like a trip to the ****** shop.

S TYPE 2001 Wont go beyong 3000 Revs

No, You have a high pressure fuel system. Things are not that simple anymore.
You need to get it checked properly as the fault is in the engine managment system.
The limp mode is the car protecting itself from you and allowing you to get home. Thats it.

Merc 190e

Ok there is a number of things that will stop it from revving past 3k from your description I would check the ignition timing for advance mechanical and vacuum .I don't know when you experience the fault or eg while driving or just free reviving in Neutral .
BTW 190e does not have limp home mode so there is a real problem. Hope this helps
