SOURCE: locating, removing and replacing starter

The starter is located below the exhaust manifold on the LH side of the engine (side facing the radiator). It is held in place by two 14mm bolts on the transmission side. Be sure to disconnect the battery before you attempt to remove the starter.

How do I test starter motor on 2004 Hyundai Tiburon gt

If you try to start the car but only hear a clicking sound when turning the key, then its the selinoid. Replace it. Located as a small tube housed next to the starter motor. Starters can be overhalled depending on its internal condition and if it is not a sealed type. Replacing the bushes and brushes.

How do I replace the starter in a 2000 hyundai sonata v6?

Access to the starter is from under the vehicle.... probaly on the back towards firewall and must be over exhaust (looking up from under it) and attached to transmission. REMEMBER: disconnect battery negative post cable 1st! If you want to be certain it is starter first either while it's still connected to battery, go under and check if you have constant 12v on main terminal and switch terminal should have 12v ONLY when key is "cranking"... hold key long enough to test for current. If all is as should be, continue to remove starter after disconnecting battery. Bench check both old (to be sure its bad) and new (so you don't install a defective one).

Where is the starter located on a 2003 hyundai santa fe

raise the front end.
Starter is mounted to the lower-left side of the engine.
You didn't specify an engine, so assuming the 2.7 V6.

Starter is a cylindrical canister about the size of a large can of beans...Follow the heavy red cable from the battery down to the front of the starter.

*You may need to remove the transaxle cables for access*

Take the old starter with you to buy the replacement, and you'll get your core credit on-the-spot.

As a side note: the '02 models were recalled in Jan '03 for faulty starter assemblies...but I don't see a note on the '03.
