If the starter is cranking the engine over try this. With the key off hold the gas pedal to the floor. Then while holding the pedal down try starting the engine. Be ready to let off the pedal if it starts. Older GM vehicles will reset idle learn anytime the battery is disconnected. You may have to play with the throttle for a little bit to keep it running.

That's the crank sensor. If its unplugged you will not have spark or injector pulse.

Car cuts off and gets harder to crank

A bad O2 sensor would not prevent it from starting. The computer ignores the O2 sensor until the engine warms up. If the fuel pressure is good, check the engine coolant temp sensor. If that's bad, the computer may think the engine is warmer/colder than it really is and will give the wrong air/fuel mixture.

could very well be. alot of cars the light wont come on if the o2 sensor is bad. bad o2 can cause car to use alot of gas. may be more than one sensor.

Car starts when cold but stops running & wont start once it warms up

It sounds like you have a bad cam sensor. It is located in the distributor for most models, and when it starts to go bad, you get that result. It will eventually get to where it will not crank. It could be a number of things, like the O2 sensor, or the MAF sensor, but the cam is the most common.

1990 Ford F150 wont stay running, replce ECT and ICM ... still wont run. Water coming out of exhaust after trying to run. 5.0 w/5-speed.

Very possible bad head gasket and fowled out plugs and/or O2 sensors. Remove spark plugs and check condition of them and pull O2 sensor to see if it is green from antifreeze. Good luck.

I was driving down the road and the car died and wont start anymore. It turns over and starts for about half a seconds on occasion. The fuel system has been redone in the last few years. so I'm thinking...

a bad O2 sensor will not keep the car from starting or running. lack of spark or fuel are top two reasons to cause the car to stop running. look in those two areas first.

Code P0141. O2 Sensor heater circuit fault (Bank1, Sensor 2). Is this a bad O2 sensor at the CAT?

It is probably the sensor before the cat. if it has a heater. The heater circuit going bad is a common problem, it does not affect the way the car runs after it warms up, it is an emission device to heat the O2 sensor up quicker than the hot exhaust gas would. It should be replaced because it will keep your check engine light on and you would not be able to pass an emission test.

Engine light is on, car wont stay on

check the fuses , you can have a o2 sensor fuse open, also check the wiring because o2s are close to the cats or manifoldss some time they burn and get shorted.., other thing you can do is unplug the o2s and drive it like that and see if it shuts off , if it doesn't so the problem is around that sensor...hope this help..

Will a bad oxygen sensor cause my car not to start?

An o2 sensor won't cause a no start issue. I'm praying your anti-freeze mixture was correct that day though.
