Question about 2007 Nissan Versa 1.8 Sl Hatchback

1 Answer

FIRST I HAVE A CODE OF P2A00 AND TIRE INFLATE

I went to Autozone to get the code of P2A00 what is it most likely out f the list : gas cap fuel pump, vaccum leak either the rear or front O2 sensors the car only has 45k. and it runs like a charm but seems lately that the gas mileage has gone down a little but I have been doing more in the city too.The performance is still good so could it be the O2 senors. I would like to reset this code and see if it comes back real soon or if it was a possible gas cap loose. Then what if the tire low light is still on even though the pressure is at the proper pressure?

Rickbarfuss,

The PA200 code is for a front A/F sensor, not an O2 sensor. This is a fairly accurate code and I am 99.99% sure that if you simply clear the code, it will come back. Is the car out of warranty?

The tire light will not go out on its own if the tire went really low. There are two codes the low tire pressure warning system can set and they are low tire and flat tire. The low tire code will go away once the pressure is corrected, the flat tire code has to be cleared with the computer at the dealership.

I have a 2003 grand am 4cyl i have three codes PO137,PO141, PO442 and since i parked it on the 17th and then never went anywhere till the morning of the 19th my car wont start it rolls but wont catch...

The 137 code is low input, rear o2 sensor,141 is a preheat fault at the same o2 sensor, the 442 is an evap leak (like a loose gas cap )
None of these codes would cause a no start condition.I think a fuel pressure test should be first,at least see if you hear the pump run for about 3 seconds as the key is turned on,don't have to crank it just turn the key on and listen (or a helper) at the fuel filler neck.

Just went to autozone to see what could be wrong with my car. So far, I see the gas cap was not placed on properly after pumping and the gas was probably topped off. Got these codes. p0420, p0441, p0446

PO420- Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) More than likely a plugged converter or exhaust.Remove the upstream O2 (it'll set a code and be real loud) and then take it for a spin and see if power is restored.
vacuum switching valve may fix the PO441 code. Replacing the charcoal canister could be another thing also. Then your PO446 is EVAP emission control system incorrect purge flow. which could a gas cap, could be a fuel pump seal or pressure sensor, filler neck.

P1684 - 1683 - 0135 - 0442 - 0455 error codes

P1684
It is not a fault code per say, it only indicates the battery has been disconnected or went dead in the last 50 drive cycles I believe.
P1683
This code refers to the cruise control speed servo power circuit is open or shorted. The power comes through a normally-on contact in the brake light switch. Use a test light or voltmeter to measure the voltage on the yellow wire / red stripe on the switch. If it's there, measure on the dark blue wire / red stripe. If it's missing there, the switch is defective. The voltage should go to 0 volts there when the pedal is pressed.
The rest of the fault codes are as follows.

P0135 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1
Possible causes- Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit fuse
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit open shorted to ground
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) Help with thisTech notes The code means that there is a problem with the heater element circuit of the heated oxygen sensor. The control module monitors how long it take the sensor to warm up and start sending an adequate signal. The code is triggered when the sensor is taking too long to warm up. Water getting inside the heated oxygen sensor connector can caused the heated oxygen sensor fuse to blow. Before replacing the sensor, check for the condition of the heated oxygen sensor fuse and connectors. If the sensor and connector are OK, replacing the O2 Sensor 1 usually takes care of the problem.

P0442 CHRYSLER - Evaporative Emission Control Small Leak Detected.
Possible causes- Missing or loose fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
- EVAP system hose leaking
- Fuel tank leaking
P0455 CHRYSLER - EVAP System Large Leak.Possible causes- Missing or loose fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
- EVAP system hose leaking
- Fuel tank leaking Tech notes The P0455 it's a very common code, because the code is set if the gas cap is loose or missing. Start by tighten the gas cap and clearing the code. In most cases the code can be clear by disconnecting the car battery for about 30 minutes.

Check engine light

Sometimes can be prematurely dirty air filter, sets off the air flow sensor, which sets off the o2 sensor. So might try new air filter first and erase codes and then see, before you spend more bucks than you need; then if codes return, do the flow mix sensor.
