Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2004 Jeep G Cherokee diagnostic code open injector

Had the check engine light come. Diagnostic pointed to an open injector on cyl 3. Engine has an intermittent miss. It does not seem to be related to engine temp or atmospheric variables. I changed the injector on # 3 cyl. but still have the problem. Could it be a faulty PCM or perhaps in the wiring harness? Mileage approx 115000.

It could be a faulty pcm or wiring as you stated in you post. the pcm pulses a ground to the injector circuit allowing the solenoid in the injector to activate momentarily are inject fuel into the intake. if you give me the engine size. V8 4.7L or strait 6 cylinder 4.0L and i will post the proper wiring diagram for the fuel injectors to help you out with your battle

The Automatic Transmission Diagnostic System Check is an organized approach to identify a problem created by an automatic transmission. The Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.2L or Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L is the diagnostic starting point for an automatic transmission complaint. The Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.2L or Diagnostic System Check - Engine Controls in Engine Controls - 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L directs you to the next logical step for diagnosing a transmission concern. Perform this check only if there is a driveability complaint or if you have been directed here from another service information section.
Follow the table to help reduce diagnostic time and help prevent unnecessary replacement of good parts.
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Important: Check for applicable service bulletins before proceeding with this test. Perform this test only if there is a driveability complaint or if you have been directed to this table from another section in the service information.
Important: Do not turn the ignition OFF when performing this diagnostic procedure. Do not clear the DTCs unless instructed by this diagnostic procedure.

2008 jeep cherokee hemi engine light its on i brought to fix it and they change 4 sensor and the cadilac converter.

You need to have PCM / ECM - engine computer checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes an go from there ! there are hundreds of codes these newer vehicles can set ! I hope these people who changed the sensors an catalytic converter checked codes first ! You never ever just replace parts !!!!!!!! A DTC will lead in a diagnostic direction ! 96 jeep 4.0L 2wd 6 cyl. shuts off when it heats up. i drive 15 min or so and always shuts off.

You can get the code by switching the key to run, off, run, off, run. The last time you switch it to run leave it on. The check engine light will flash the code. just count the flashes. you can find more info on this on the internet along with what the codes mean. As for the problem the codes will probably point to the cam or crank position sensor failing.

The check engine light is because all check engine light codes are caused by components that affect emissions. It's not actually an engine problem, it's a problem with either your O2 sensor, MAF sensor, fuel/air ratio, pyrometer, or exhaust.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited P0700 diagnostic problem

P0700 means there is a transmission fault code in the transmission controller. Since the transmission controller doesn't have a light attached, it tells the engine controller to turn the light on using this code. You'll have to access the transmission controller to further diagnose the problem.
