Tach crazy trunk pops dosn't like to start

Sometimes when starting the car (2000 alero) the trunk pops or it will start and the tach goes haywire and it turns off. Other times it act as if it has a dead battery even if it is completly charged.the rear defrost doesn;t work and it sometimes runs hot. We have been told by several technicians the pcm is bad I still would like one more opinion.

Hello, I have found that if the car shows any sign of a dead battery like a slow crank it will pop the trunk. I dont know why they do this but mine did the same thing when the battery was bad

My Chevy 2,000 Mailbu will not start. Sometimes when I try to start it the trunk will pop open. Can you please help?!

Its time to replace the battery. This is common in Chevy cars, if the battery goes bad it doesn't hold a charge anymore. Whats happening in your case is the low voltage isn't keeping the trunk relay closed. When you turn the key all the juice goes to the stater and lets the truck pop open. Just to prove my point, give it a jump start and it will fire right up and the trunk will stay closed.

My 2000 Nissan Frontier has sputtering problems and the tac goes crazy. changed the fuel pump, sending unit, spark plugs, cap & rotor. what could be wrong?

your tach is run by the engine computer, possible cause. also by the crankshaft position sensor, most likely cause, I would start there. some sensors will run within perimeters and be bad enough to cause a lot of problems

SOME GAS CAPS CAN BE VERY HARD TO REMOVE , IF YOU TRY WITH A PAIR OF LONG PLIERS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REMOVE. THE TACH PROBLEM SOUNDS LIKE THE SPEED SENSOR MAY BE BAD

Car won't start

I'd probably start with cleaning my connections at battery, & making sure my battery has a full charge. If not cured, maybe a new battery is required. If it will start with a jump, try running it for a couple of minutes with boosters on, and if all appears o.k. , change your battery.
