Question about 2000 Isuzu Trooper

2 Answers

I took my Issuzu Tropper 2000 to the mechanic for repair, because the check engine came. I was told by the mechanic that the problem is coming from a bad body throtle part and need to be change. He told me that it will cost to replace the part about $600 plus labor. Is it possible that the body throtle need to be replace to fix this problem? thanks

You should for sure go somewhere else. $600 is way to much. Call your local auto parts store to get a price for a new throttle body. They a pretty easy to change yourself.

You should be able to get a complete throtle body at a salvage yard. did your mechanic say what part of your throtle body is bad. you should get a second opinion.

No if you're not a familiar with engine interiors and function leave it. Get the the repair book and you'll know what m talking about. Ignore it till you get the money. While you @ it try looking for cheaper mechanic.

Find what the codes are and the repairs, I would cancel the codes, drive it and if they come back first, sometimes the computer can pick up fault code from a power transformer, Try this first.

Check Engine light 2005 Toyota Corolla

He can't hit a switch and turn on the Check Engine Light, however there are several dozen ways a shoddy mechanic can cause that Light to come on.
Two things you can do is:
1. Disconnect the negative side of the battery and wait about 30-minutes before reconnecting. Check to see if that Light comes back. If not great! If it does:
2. Find out why the Check Engine Light is on. There should be a code that the computer has set. Take it to Autozone or other auto parts stores, where they can hook your vehicle up (for free) to a DRB Scan Tool to eloborate or extrapolate what the Code(s) are.
The real question is if the work the mechanic did caused this. Have their work checked.

2001 kia sephia check engine light on ODM system MIL command status fail diagnostic trouble code present P0422

We had our check engine light come on and stay on. We took it to our mechanic who has a machine that reads codes. You need to find out what the problem is relating to the diagnostic code and then you can find out what kind of repairs you are looking at. Our code turned out to be an O2 sensor that he said would do no harm to the car at all other than slightly affect our gas mileage. If the check engine light comes on and flashes on and off you need to go directly to a mechanic as this is a more serious problem.
