Keeps backfiring & spluttering wen i drive it but seems to b ok wen i go for long drives, also engine just stops sometimes wen i driving

Engine backfiring and spluttering is usually related to engine valve timing and spark timing if the engine is low to medium mileage and has not been pulled apart it is most likely related to spark timing
The crank angle sensor loose or intermittently faulty can cause all the symptoms you have described another cause although unlikely these days could be either water & or too much methanol in the fuel
Have your crank angle sensor tested change to 98 {premium unleaded} lower grade fuels are false economy let me know how you get on with this

99 Barina City - Spluttering and Backfiring!

the problem with e-mix fuels is that the ethanol absorbs water from the atmosphere and then separates out leaving you with petrol and a water ethanol mix in the bottom of the tank
what you say indicates a tank of water along with the e-mix fuel so at this time a solution could be, to put in the tank 1 liter of methylated spirits as that breakls down the water surface tension and allows it to be burnt in the engine .
as the metho is imflammable there is no problem for the engine from its use
the major problem with ethanol is the fact that it absorbes water and that results in corrosion of aluminium parts in the fuel system as well as rusting out of any steel bits but that fact is being deliberately omitted from any literature about it's use
It is a ***** sentence for marine engines

Engine light stays on and won't start after fuel fill up

I would try replacing your Fuel Filter first. It could be that simple.

'97 540i spluttering & cutting out

best bet is to go get any codes that may be stored in the PCM. This will take alot of the guess work out of diagnosing it. Or remove the spark plgs and replace them.. If you have 50,000 or more this could be the cause but a code may tell you which one is the issue

Daewoo cielo 1997 spluttering @ startup

Try to reset the IAC valve on the throttle body it has 4 wires t it .
procedure is as follows

turn ignition key on (don't start the engine), unplug the IAC valve, turn the key off, replug the IAC .Do this 3-4 times .Then start the engine while holding the pedal down at about 2000 rpm then let the rpm down slowly till idle. Sometimes the throttle requires cleaning then redo the reset.

2003 Ford KA engine light on, spluttering and steam from engine?

If you're ever driving along again and you smell coolant, see steam, or your sensor (thermometer) shows up on your dash again...IMMEDIATELY stop the car in a safe place and turn the engine off!!!!!

You may have gotten lucky this time, but I can't say that for sure because I can't see your car.

The thermometer is an indicator light telling you that for some reason your car is overheating (not circulating coolant). It could be the thermastadt is stuck shut, coolant is low, hole in the radiator hose, water pump is shot, and on and on, and on.

When you run a car's motor that hot you stand the chance of warping the heads (big dollar repair item).

I would strongly suggest that you call a tow-truck, and have your garage/mechaninc look at it. It will be alot cheaper this way instead of having to repair warped heads and any other damage from runing the car that hot.

I hope this helps you, and thanks for letting make your day brighter
