Automatic Transmission problem

Hi, my problem is as follows. when i start my Mirage 1998 early in the morning, the Drive (D) position doesnt apply, then i apply the 3rd (3 position), the car moves and I apply D (drive) again but i watch that the D (drive) light doesnt get On till about 20 minutes the car is moving, from this moment the transmision operarates normaly. Somebody told me that this is caused for a Seal Inside the transmision, I have my doubts about it. . . Thanks a lot

Sounds more like a speed sensor located at the transmission. Have your car scanned for a Trouble code. They do it for free at most car parts stores (ie. AutoZone, Kragen's Checker..)

Automatic transmission not shifting gears

Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid and if necessary the transmission fluid. Check the condition of the gears within the transmission (cracked, damaged) and change the gear cluster if necessary.

Transmission shifts early (Is this normal?)

the reason it might be shifting so early is because of the gear ratio in the rear end of the truck. it is common in the 2 wheel drive basic model pickup because they were designed to work not travel.
