Replacing the front heater core in a Ford 2001 Expedition

I cannot figure o ut , how to get the dahs board apart for replacing the heater core on my 2001 expedition. I see it right under the glove box. Have all that out but cannot gain access to it for replacement. Any suggestions on how to do it. I do not have the 800-900 dollars that is charged for replacing it. Thanks for your time and patience. I have to book for that model but it doesn't give all the details unless I am missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best I can recommend at this time is go to auto zone and ask if they can provide a diagram print out for you I have a Haynes book and it states: to pull off the cover of the heater core/evaporator core housing it has small screws and then pull the blend door assembly out to expose the heater core

How to replace a heater core in a 2002 ford expedition eddie bauer

The dash has to be positioned out of the way and the top of the heater case has to be removed. Not an easy job if you're not familiar with removing dashes. Do you feel you can remove the dah?

I have a 2001 ford expedition my front heater core was leaking so i by-passed it. now its the rear heater core can someone please tell me how to by-pass it to. please

Greetings,
Just remove the heater hoses where they go in to the firewall, and connect them together with a short piece of copper pipe and a couple heater hose clamps. Or, remove the hose that goes from the water pump to the firewall completely, then remove the firewall end of the other hose and connect it directly to the water pump. If the relative sizes of the two heater hoses make this impossible, then revert back to my first suggestion.
For a video showing the basics of replacing heater cores go here.

If you are getting coolant inside the cabin the common cause is a leaking heater core.

Heater cord ford expedition 01 5.7liter where is it located and how hard is it to change?

Dear Heater Core Hunter,
For your 01 expedition, that has the 5.4 liter motor in it, the heater core is located in the evaporator case assembly, where the blowermotor itself is located,This is a pretty darn good labor intensive job, if you open the passenger front door and get down onyour knees and look up underneath the dash.....that's what you're going to be removing and replacing, the heater core is inside of this black case. Please get back to me if you have any more questions...I'M HERE TO HELP!!!

Heater valve

there is no heater control valve in this truck, heat control is done through what are called blend doors. So the issue may be the front blend door motor has failed, this is very common on all Ford heatimng systems except the Focus.

Diagram bypass heater cord on 2001 ford expedition eddie bauer

the heater bypass is quite simple, if you look at the firewall you will see two medium sized coolant lines, remove them from the firewall and link them together using a proper sized tube, you can purchase a kit at a parts store quite cheaply
