Re: Front blwer stopped functioning after an ice storm
The same thing happened to me. I replaced the blower resistor, and everything is back to normal. This is something that is easy to replace it is located behind the glovebox. There is two elec. connections and two screws to remove. Put in the new one and your done. You do have to purchace the part at the dealer though. I think I payed about $25.
Hope this helps

since you know where the blower motor relay is for the rear, have someone turn on the switch while you touch the relay. if you feel a click then the relay is good an trying to turn the rear blower on. that would mean you have a bad blower motor or bad blwer motor resistor for the rear unit.
there might be two options the altenator is going out or blwer motor is locked or burn"t out afther derk start car and turn lights on in front of garage door rev the engine up if the lights get brighter the charger is working and maybe blower motor is going out
it can either be your blwer motor your blower motor resistor or ignition switch. alot of people never think about the ignition switch but it is actually an impotant part in everything it supplies power to just about everything..
Changing the blower motor resistor will solve the problem of the unchanging fan speeds and the blower motor having power when the ignition is turned to the off position. Beware that there are three different kinds of blower motor resistors. There is a manual, automatic, and a digital that in appearance is greatly different from the first two. The blower motor resistor is located on the passenger side below and behind the glove box. The kick-plate under the glove box will need to be removed by two screws and wha-la, behold is the motor and resistor.
