I bought this car used a few months ago. ever since I have had it, it has problems shutting off on me while I am waiting at a stop light/sign and I have to restart my car. A month ago, one day it all the sudden didn't want to start. There is no noise or anything. Sometimes if I keep trying after a few minutes it will eventually start. Other days it will take hours. Currently it hasn't wanted to start for the past 2 days. I want to know if there's some kind of relay box short I can check. I have already checked my alternator and battery and they are both fine.
Sounds like a fuel problem. your fuel pressure regulator sounds bad. it is located on the fuel rail. how many miles on it and what size motor
Most commonly it's a spark- or fuel- related problem, but very often it could be something simple like a dead battery. Go to the repair shop to check it.

the ignition key security coded with a little chip, you must go to a gm dealership with the car id numbers(ven) and they can order that special key

I had the same problem with my 96 Aurora. I guarantee it's the fuel pressure regulator. Had mine replaced by GM dealer started like a new car

sounds like the vats system try cleaning your key wait 3 min if that doesnt work take it to the dealer and let them reprogram the vats system and probally replace your key

I have had both of these situations happen to me and they are completely unrelated.
The Rattle: If you have the factory wheels with the olds center caps, take them off. My husband tightened every screw on the car until he took the center caps off my wheels, and lo and behold, NO MORE RATTLE.
The Hard Starting: If you notice it starts hard and the RPMs are high, your throttle cable is sticking. I have this exact same problem with my 99 Intrigue GLS. The only way I can get it to quit is start and restart the car until it quits. Obviously not the best solution, but I would check your cable first before trying anything else.

I think the diode block in the alternator is on it's way out. The output voltage from the alternator should be approximately 14 volts. When the alternator output is lower than the battery output, the car runs on the battery until it is depleted. That is why the car stops.
Very basically, it means that either the alternator output voltage is lower than the battery voltage, or the battery voltage is lower than the alternator output voltage. If the light gets dimmer as you rev up the engine, then you most likely have a problem with the alternator. If it gets brighter, then the battery is most likely bad.
