A dead battery is usually the 1st thing to check. It also might be your starter.

SOURCE: 2001 Jaguar XJ8L - Intermittant starting problem

I had the same issue with my 2001 XJ8 and ended up having to have the car rewired from the engine to the battery. I was charged about $300 from a independent automotive electrician. Unfortunately this was after having a new starter and alternator installed! I was told that there were 2 or 3 service bulletins on this issue from Jaguar.

Good luck on this one, it's very frustating and had my car in the shop for about 3 weeks trying to figure this one out.

Turn the key and nothing happens batteries are fully charges. The interior lights blike when I try to start the engine.

Starter may be toast , if the interior lights blink it could have something to do with anti theft and you may have to unlock the car or use the right key

My 2000 bravada oldsmobile wont start is it the sartaer

It depends upon what actually happens when you turn the key. If the engine turns over, but doesn't start, it is NOT the starter. If all you hear is a clicking sound, or the starter motor engages but doesn't have the power to turn it over, then it could be wither the starter or the battery. A quick and easy check when this happens is to turn on the interior light. If, when you turn the key and get the click or no activity, the interior light dims way down or goes completely out, it is probably the battery. If you turn the key and get nothing at all, things are more difficult. The interior lamp test should be performed. If the light goes out immediately, try the battery. If the light doesn't flicker or dim at all, then the problem could be the starter, the starter relay, the Park/Neutral Position (PNO) switch, the ignition switch, or the IGN E (Fuse 22) or IGN A (Fuse 34) fuse in the fuse block under the hood.

sounds like a bad connection,it wont heat up the solenoid or the starter, check your hot and negative cables from battery to starter first could be the starter itself, ggod luck

Try to start car and nothing happens. replaced

Do the dash lights come on ? They should come on when the key is turned to the on position. If nothing happens check the engine relay. It is not too expensive to replace if you really want to eliminate that as the problem. Check all wires going to the starter and make sure it is wired correctly.
