Question about 2001 Dodge Dakota
I am thinking about doing an engine swap, I am currently driving a 2001 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9 6cyl. Other then that, I have no idea about the truck. My question is, what all is involved in doing a complete engine swap. I want to move up to a V8, and add 4 wheel drive.
I have the donor truck, I have a mechanic, and I have some extra income. I'm just curious what I'm getting myself into. How long does it take to complete? Do you have change out the computer, interior instrument cluster, rear differential etc?
Thanks for any replies.
Yes you will have to change the computer. the rear diff wont have to be changed if the front diff has the same gear ratio.the entire front end suspension will need removed so tha you can mount the four wheel drive differential this most likely will require custom modifications. and the whole process will be very time consuming and expensive
