It could be a few things in the fuel systen. The fuel filter is a likely culprit. If it hasn't been changed in a while, change it our more problems will arise. If that's not it the injectors could be clogged, try an injector cleaner before getting it worked on. It could also be a few other things including fuel pump, TPS (throttle position sensor), EGR (if your car has one). or even plugs and wires, Try the filter and cleaner first, if that doesn't help get a diagnostic.

92 Honda Accord runs and starts fine I was great but when you accelerate starving for fuel has a new fuel pump new fuel filter fuel injectors don't know what the problem is help me

attach fuel pressure gauge to check fuel pressure during acceleration. fuel pressure should be the same as when vehicle is idling. if fuel pressure is good i would check ignition timing of your car. if timing is retarded it will affect acceleration and feel like its sluggish too.

Can't accelerate above 30 mph.

Is the check engine light on ?
If the engine feels like it is starving for fuel, it could be low fuel pressure. Or if it feels like it can't breath, it could be the air filter or a restriction in the exhaust.

Starves for fuel on acceleration and wont idle right

Gas problem, likely. Have your fuel pressure tested. Fuel pump or filter may be the problem.

Is this gas filter needed when car cuts off

it can be but their is many more various parts/components that do the same--bad gas--egr valve-restricted exhaust-air filter-fuel pump-catalytic converter--bad wires-plugs-etc. usually u will feel the loss of power on acceleration or feel the car starving for fuel --check fuel pressure or a fuel filter is easy and inexpensive enough to change and if it hasnt been done in a while good idea to do so

When I accelerate it feels like fuel is not going through and it takes along time to bring the car up to 45 mph.

If your car is starving for fuel, it will bogg down, I mean REALLY bogg down if you accelerate hard, will even do it in neutral. Could be anything from a clogged filter to a faulty fuel pump, to clogged injectors or a number of other problems. What I have mentioned are conditions that are not that difficult to correct, with the exception of the pump. You may check out what I have mentioned, and if you discover that it is something else, you will probably have to have a diagnostic check.

Bad acceleration

Try changing the fuel filter it sounds like it is starving for fuel when you accelerate. This I would do first.

Lose of power on acceleration like its starving

Sounds like there is a load of dirty fuel in that gas tank. Ran good for a while after changing fuel filter, then began to run poorly again. Remove fuel tank, drain and clean out, replace fuel filter AGAIN. That should cure it. Hope this helps
