..Fusible Link What gauge wire do I need to use for the main fusible link in a 2000 jeep cherokee?

my guess he means , what thermal wire code to use.
they are color coded.
the fuse is bottom M1/M2 location of the PDC right"?
the problem is the OP failed to show exact wire.
my guess this is PDC question, (where are your hands/?)
fuse link A11? gas engine, right, USA?
A11 code 10 DG (dark green)
to the generator?
caused by shorted ALT or changing it with battery connected
yes, they blow.
the they have not just one engine, nor one alternator
but 124 amps the alt on 4L , with automatic. 4speed.

these are the rules. SAE.ORG

What size replacement fusible link should be used ?
The automotive service industry recommends using the same gauge and length as the blown fusible link after the cause of failure is corrected.
guide lines,
A 14-gauge wire would be protected by an 18-gauge fusible link. A 6-gauge wire would be protected by a 10-gauge link, and so on. Odd number wire gauge sizes like 19, 15, 13 and 11 are counted when sizing a link. The length of a fusible link should not exceed 9".

is the old link, still readable.
see the color
measure its size,. these tow question are first.

my jeep FSM shows it as 10 gage harness size. (M1/M2 gen slot)
so, 8 gauge thermal link is my guess. per SAE.
why not go to jeep and buy it?

2004 jeep wrangler tj my dash lights and running lights arent working the fuses are good what else could it be

There are fusible links which could fail, usually in the wiring from the battery + or located near the starter motor. Also possible you have a bad light switch. Use a voltmeter to find this.

I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee. After powering a small inverter from the cigarett lighter outlet to power a laptop I now have no power to the turn signal relays, wipers, radio, hot/cool blower motor, and...

sounds like you may have melted the ignition switch and it is just partly working. (i have done this myself before) it is located on the lower part of the steering column you maybe able to use a mirror and a flash light to see if it is melted. ( mine was, but the jeep still started) the switch will have a few wires running to it also a metal rod that comes down the column from the key switch. (please rate this if it help Thank you)

Check your main fuses and fusible links , as well as the pcm
fuse located in the fuse block .
Be sure all your grounds are properly tightened.

Fusible link 1999 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

Jeep got rid of Fusible links by 1999. All the fuses that in the past would be Fusible Links are now in the Power Distribution Center in the engine, as Maxi-Fuses. However you could have an after market modification that would include a Fusible Link. That said, make sure you have a good charge on the battery before starting, it doesn't seem like a big deal....but it could make a difference.
